Alaska’s Established Clusters

Not all industries will be part of an industry cluster, nor should they be. Clusters, sometimes called “traded clusters” are important for their ability to drive economic growth in a region. To that end, they all have the characteristic that they can or do export goods and services outside of the region in which they exist. Alaska’s established clusters are:

  • Advanced Business Services
  • Community and Social Services
  • Federal Government
  • Fishing and Seafood Processing
  • Forestry and Wood Products
  • Logistics and International Trade
  • Military
  • Mining
  • Oil and Gas
  • Specialized Machinery/Capital Goods
  • Tourism
